This detached house is one of the first houses to have a
rooftop pool. Guz Wilkinson, the architect behind this house, is probably the
first to realize the potential of the rooftop as more than just entertaining
space of bare concrete or clichéd Balinese styled gardens. His interpretation of
modern neo-tropicality has manifested in a trend in modern residential design-
the rooftop pool; at once a space saving measure and a delightful for its
novelty and the increased privacy.
Best described as a glass contraption, this unit comes with a
central courtyard, landscaped with walkways and an internal bamboo garden,
further blurring the dichotomy between the indoors and outdoors.
Linearity is a constant theme in the house- there are plenty
of long walkways connecting the bedrooms or one section of the house to the
other. Enclosed in glass, the effect is nothing short of poetic.
